In 2011/2012, the Parents’ Association contributed to or organised the following list of events
- Decorated the church for the Christmas Carol Service
- Organised the Christmas cards
- Church gate collection
- Face painting for the St. Patrick’s Day parade
- Provided medals for the sports day
- Provided treats, home baking & drinks for the Green Flag Day
- Held the end of year barbecue
- Provided refreshments for the boys during the sponsored walk at the Island Wood
- Had a Spanish day in the gym, in honour of our two Spanish students, providing Spanish themed food & drinks
- Provided sweets for communion & confirmation classes
- Contributed €300 towards the new photocopier
- Contributed €500 towards the literacy programme
As you can see from the list above, the Parents Association provides and organises an extensive number of activities for the boys. This can only be done by fundraising & through the generosity of the people of Newmarket and wider communities. Our main fundraising to date comes from the church gate collection, which is held annually in October/November. In the last two years, we have organised Christmas cards produced by the boys. They put in a huge amount of work and we are very proud of all the hard work they do. Our biggest fundraiser to date has been the Fashion Show which was held at the Hi-Land in November. This was a hugely successful night; we had tremendous support from all the local businesses and community. All money made from this went directly to the school.
