A warm welcome to you! We are delighted that you are looking at our website. Here, you will find a wealth of useful and interesting information about our school, which is situated in a picturesque, rural location in north-west Cork.

Newmarket Boys’ is a Roman Catholic, all-boys school. Education has been provided at this location for over 157 years; with an official school structure built in 1877 and the current building in 1970. Our school serves the wider communities of Newmarket, Taur and surrounding areas.

At present, we have over 100 pupils from Infants to Sixth Class as well as 9 staff. This includes 6 permanent teachers, a part-time special needs assistant, secretary and cleaner. Pupils are grouped in two-class groupings of Infants (Juniors & Seniors), Junior Classroom (1st & 2nd), Middle Classroom (3rd & 4th) and Senior Classroom (5th & 6th).

Our school’s vision is based upon the principles of Enjoyment, Potential, Inclusion and Community. These principles contribute to each child’s holistic development. Our EPIC statement can be found on our Home-page slider.

Please visit our Class Blogs on the right and each classroom will introduce themselves.
