Greece

 Greece is a country situated in south-east Europe. Greece joined the EU in 1981.

The capital of Greece is Athens. The population of Greece is around 11 million. The colour of the Greek flag is blue and white. The cross on the flag represents religion. In 2004, Greece won the European Championship in soccer. They beat Portugal 1-0. Greece has lots of sports stars such as Georgios Samaras, Dimitris Salpingidis and Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Their favourite pastime is soccer. Their favourite dish is roast pig. Their currency is the Euro. There are many Islands in Greece. Greece is full of ancient myths and Gods. Zeus was the main God. The biggest mountain in Greece is Mt. Olympus. The surrounding seas are The Ionan Sea and the Agean Sea. The first Olympics were held in Greece in 776 BC. Archimedes discovered Mathematics.

In conclusion, I would love to visit Greece in the near future.
