The Hospital Visit

It was half seven when I woke up. I was so excited about my hurling match that day. It came to nine o clock and my mom put on the breakfast and I ate two sausages and a hash brown and also an egg. Half an hour later we had all eaten our breakfasts.

I watched TV until twelve o clock and at half one my dad and I went for a puck around. It came to two o clock so I went and I got a snack and watched TV.

It came to five o clock so I ran upstairs and I put my hurling gear on. The team had arranged to meet at the boy’s school where we were getting a bus to Boherbue. It took us half an hour to get there. When we reached the pitch we got off the bus and our trainer told us what positions we would be playing. He gave us our jerseys and we ran out onto the pitch. My dad was the referee. My dad threw up the ball and the game started.

Just before half time I got a serious belt with a hurley on my head. It was so hard that it knocked me out. My dad ran over to me and then called the ambulance. After twenty minutes the ambulance arrived. The paramedics ran onto the field quickly to check me. They brought the ambulance onto the field and put me in the ambulance. The sirens rang as we went to CUH hospital.

I woke up a few hours later in a hospital room. The doctors scanned my brain which really hurt me because they put two needles in my head to check the brain. When the results came back the doctors told my mom and dad that I had to go for an operation straight away.

After the operation I had to spend eight weeks in hospital. I was glad to be left home.

The Big Splash

It was the summer holidays and my family decided to go to Dingle, Co.Kerry. We packed up all our gear into the car and headed off in our car. We were all very excited!

We arrived in Dingle around noon and went for some lunch. Then we went for a walk around Dingle town to see what it had to offer. I noticed it had an aquarium and I just had to see it.

We wandered around, looking at all the unusual and colourful fish in the tanks. There were all types of fish and sea creatures but my favourite were the sharks. I gazed at them all in amazement.

We were just walking out of the aquarium when all of a sudden I noticed a crack in one of the larger tank! I couldn’t believe my eyes as it began to grow and water started to seep through.

I ran to alert the staff of the problem. Suddenly I heard a huge crash; the tank exploded and all the water and the sharks came crashing out around the floor. People ran around the aquarium screaming in fear of the sharks, but the biggest fear was that the sharks would drown while out of water.

The staff had to work frantically to net the sharks and get them back into a tank safely. Eventually they got everything back in order. To thank me for my help, the staff gave me free passes for my family and I to come back and visit again.

I will never forget my trip to Dingle aquarium. I hope one day to swim with sharks.

Last year on Saturday, February 16^th 2014 my family and I went on to Benidorm.  Mya , mom , dad , granddad , nana and I were getting ready for our trip,  packing  shorts , flip-flops  and our short sleeve t-shirts because Benidorm was really hot . On the plane, we were playing on our phones and listening to music.  After a while we got a bit of food because we were starving. The food was very tasty, Mya and I got cheese and onion taytos with a bar of chocolate.

Finally we arrived in Spain and got off the plane in Alicante.  We showed the airport security our passports before leaving the airport. My uncle came and collected all of us and we went to our apartment.  There were three rooms. My room was the smallest room because it only had a single bed. My moms, dads and Myas room was the biggest room because they had a double bed plus a single bed; they needed that bed because there were three of them.  My nana and granddads bed was the second biggest room because they have a double bed for the two of them. Outside our apartment was a swimming pool with beautiful blue water.  There also was a diving board.  My dad and I kept diving into the pool doing front flips. My sister was practicing her swimming with mom, nana and granddad.

The next day we went to the Bodhrán for breakfast and we got a rasher sandwich. It was delicious. After that we went to the beach and the sand was so hot so we had to go straight down to the water.  The water was a beautiful blue colour. We had floats so we could lie on the water.  I had a dolphin float and Mya had a pink wheel so she could sit in and not fall over into the water. In the water we had our goggles so we could chase the fish without stinging our eyes. We walked up to the Bodhrán Bar then and got lunch. The lunch was magnificent. The Bodhrán is my favourite bar because it is an Irish bar.  Also there are lots of Irish flags and posters up in the bar. My uncle Denis owns the Bodhrán and we love to get burger and chip for lunch with a pineapple drink. After that we went back up to our apartment and had dinner before going to bed.

The next day we went shopping. Mya and I got to choose what shop to go to.  I let Mya pick what shop she wanted to go to first and she picked a teddy shop. It was a fabulous shop. There were lots of cool teddy bears there but I think Mya got the coolest teddy bear; it was a beautiful husky with grey and white patches. Then I got to choose what shop to visit next and of course I picked the sports shop! While we were in the sports shop I saw the new Man United jersey. It was black and neon orange with Martial on the back. He is my favourite player for Man United so I had to get it!

The next morning after breakfast we went to the pool. Mya and I were the only ones diving in while mom, dad, nana and granddad were sleeping in the sun. Soon afterwards Mya and I went up to the apartment with mom to dry off and dad, nana and granddad followed us up to get ready for dinner.  We ordered pizza and chips. It was delicious.

The next day was our last day so we said we would enjoy the day by going to the water park, Aqua Landia. It was a fantastic water park, with exciting water slides that you go down on mats. It was really fast so my sister Mya could not go down it only dad, granddad and I. It was the best day ever, there was so many slides that you could go down.

That was the end of our trip so we as busy as bees trying to pack up to go home. It was sad leaving because we all loved it there so much. At the airport we checked in and got on the plane. On the plane we got food because we were starving. While we were on the plane we were listening to music and playing games on our phones. We landed in cork and went home.

Danny’s Holiday

On the 11^th of July 2015, Danny went on a holiday to Spain. He went with his best friend Mike, his dad and his mom. Before going on their holiday they needed to buy a couple of things for the journey; Danny brought a ball, Mike brought a diary and Danny’s dad brought a mini float for the water. Danny’s mom brought sun cream so that they wouldn’t get burnt at the beach!

When they arrived in Spain Danny and Mike ran straight for the beach near their hotel. They were playing in the hot sea for many hours until someone took their ball and he ran off.  Danny and Mike looked at each other with disbelief, they were shocked! They would have to get their ball back. They looked at each other and said, ‘This is going to be an amazing adventure!’ The boys decided to split up and find the man who had taken their ball. They would use their phones to talk to each other.

Danny and Mike were searching around the beach when Mike heard a person screaming in the distance. Danny had also heard the screaming and decided to run in the direction he thought the screaming sound was coming from.  The screaming was coming from an old building, located near the beach. Danny entered the building and he could hear voices but could not see anybody as it was dark. All of a sudden the light came on and a big man was standing in the hallway. The man asked Danny, ‘What are you doing in my house?’ Danny told him that he was looking for his friend  Mike. All of a sudden another man appeared in the room, grabbed Danny and took him into a smaller room where Mike was locked in a cage. They were kidnapped!

After several hours they heard knocking on the window of the room. There was a small, dark haired man outside and he was telling them to stay calm. Their kidnappers were after falling asleep on the ground. The man climbed in the window and kicked the big man to the ground and then tied him up. He then unlocked the cage that Mike was in and set Mike free. The other kidnapper woke up but before he could even speak the man tied him up and put the two men into the cage and locked it. The mysterious man then flew back out the window and ran off. Mike and Danny were speechless! They immediately ran out of the house and escaped from their kidnappers.

As they ran back to the beach they wondered who the mysterious man was that saved them. When Danny and Mike met Danny’s mother she was pleased to see them as they had been gone for several hours. She was shocked when she heard what had happened and immediately called the police to tell them the story.

Danny and Mike played at the beach for the rest of the day and they did not wonder away again!

My Trip to Portugal

19^th of August 2015

I woke up at 7:00am to get ready for the flight to Faro, southern Portugal. We arrived at Cork International airport at 9:00am and we didn’t have to check-in because we only had hand luggage. We got past security, so then we went into the loop to buy a pair of sunglasses for Dad. We had to for wait an hour and a half. So I got a match magazine and a bottle of water. We eventually boarded the flight. We arrived at Faro at 10:30am.The drive to the hotel was boring. When we got to the hotel we unpacked our suitcases. Then we ate at a Mexican restaurant. The place was small and had pictures on the walls.

20^th of August 2015

I woke up at 6:00am and went walking with Mom. When we got back only Dad had woken up but we sat on the balcony until Padraig woke up. When he did wake up we had breakfast. When Padraig and I were finished eating we watched TV. It was in Portuguese but we still watched it. Later that day we went to the pool. Then we went to a restaurant for dinner.

21^st of August 2015

We had breakfast at 7:30am. We went to a place called the Old Town which was a beach a few kilometres from the hotel. We had lunch and a drink at a pub/cocktail house. Earlier we checked for entertainment for the weekend so we picked a place called Zoomarine for Saturday as well as a boat trip that looked for Dolphins on Sunday.

22^nd of August 2015

All of us had breakfast and then Padraig and I watched TV. At 8:55am we waited for a bus that would take us to Zoomarine. When we got there we saw a Dolphin show, a seal show/play, an acrobatics show and a dinosaur history tour. Mom got me a Zoomarine dinosaur show t-shirt as well as a tropical bird show with parrots and macaws. After we went back to the town and had dinner.

23^rd of August 2015

We had breakfast and went to the bay and got on the boat. We discovered dolphins after twenty-five minutes and went para-sailing. Dad and I went up before Mom and Padraig. Padraig and I where as brave as lions.

24^th of August 2015

We went back to Zoomarine and did some of the things we did on Saturday and we went to a birds of prey show as well as an aquarium. We also went on some rides. One of the rides was called Rapid River. We had dinner at a place called Ramos.

25^th of August 2015

We had breakfast at a restaurant and did shopping at the Old Town. I got a FC Porto jersey as well as more shirts. Mom got Nana and Amber a bag each. We packed our stuff and went back to the airport. To conclude my holiday was brilliant.
