Danny’s Holiday

Danny’s Holiday

On the 11th of July 2015, Danny went on a holiday to Spain. He went with his best friend Mike, his dad and his mom. Before going on their holiday they needed to buy a couple of things for the journey; Danny brought a ball, Mike brought a diary and Danny’s dad brought a mini float for the water. Danny’s mom brought sun cream so that they wouldn’t get burnt at the beach!

When they arrived in Spain Danny and Mike ran straight for the beach near their hotel. They were playing in the hot sea for many hours until someone took their ball and he ran off.  Danny and Mike looked at each other with disbelief, they were shocked! They would have to get their ball back. They looked at each other and said, ‘This is going to be an amazing adventure!’ The boys decided to split up and find the man who had taken their ball. They would use their phones to talk to each other.

Danny and Mike were searching around the beach when Mike heard a person screaming in the distance. Danny had also heard the screaming and decided to run in the direction he thought the screaming sound was coming from.  The screaming was coming from an old building, located near the beach. Danny entered the building and he could hear voices but could not see anybody as it was dark. All of a sudden the light came on and a big man was standing in the hallway. The man asked Danny, ‘What are you doing in my house?’ Danny told him that he was looking for his friend  Mike. All of a sudden another man appeared in the room, grabbed Danny and took him into a smaller room where Mike was locked in a cage. They were kidnapped!

After several hours they heard knocking on the window of the room. There was a small, dark haired man outside and he was telling them to stay calm. Their kidnappers were after falling asleep on the ground. The man climbed in the window and kicked the big man to the ground and then tied him up. He then unlocked the cage that Mike was in and set Mike free. The other kidnapper woke up but before he could even speak the man tied him up and put the two men into the cage and locked it. The mysterious man then flew back out the window and ran off. Mike and Danny were speechless! They immediately ran out of the house and escaped from their kidnappers.

As they ran back to the beach they wondered who the mysterious man was that saved them. When Danny and Mike met Danny’s mother she was pleased to see them as they had been gone for several hours. She was shocked when she heard what had happened and immediately called the police to tell them the story.

Danny and Mike played at the beach for the rest of the day and they did not wonder away again!

My Trip to Portugal

19th of August 2015

I woke up at 7:00am to get ready for the flight to Faro, southern Portugal. We arrived at Cork International airport at 9:00am and we didn’t have to check-in because we only had hand luggage. We got past security, so then we went into the loop to buy a pair of sunglasses for Dad. We had to for wait an hour and a half. So I got a match magazine and a bottle of water. We eventually boarded the flight. We arrived at Faro at 10:30am.The drive to the hotel was boring. When we got to the hotel we unpacked our suitcases. Then we ate at a Mexican restaurant. The place was small and had pictures on the walls.

I woke up at 6:00am and went walking with Mom. When we got back only Dad had woken up but we sat on the balcony until Padraig woke up. When he did wake up we had breakfast. When Padraig and I were finished eating we watched TV. It was in Portuguese but we still watched it. Later that day we went to the pool. Then we went to a restaurant for dinner.

21st of August 2015

We had breakfast at 7:30am. We went to a place called the Old Town which was a beach a few kilometres from the hotel. We had lunch and a drink at a pub/cocktail house. Earlier we checked for entertainment for the weekend so we picked a place called Zoomarine for Saturday as well as a boat trip that looked for Dolphins on Sunday.

22nd of August 2015

All of us had breakfast and then Padraig and I watched TV. At 8:55am we waited for a bus that would take us to Zoomarine. When we got there we saw a Dolphin show, a seal show/play, an acrobatics show and a dinosaur history tour. Mom got me a Zoomarine dinosaur show t-shirt as well as a tropical bird show with parrots and macaws. After we went back to the town and had dinner.

23rd of August 2015

We had breakfast and went to the bay and got on the boat. We discovered dolphins after twenty-five minutes and went para-sailing. Dad and I went up before Mom and Padraig. Padraig and I where as brave as lions.

24th of August 2015

We went back to Zoomarine and did some of the things we did on Saturday and we went to a birds of prey show as well as an aquarium. We also went on some rides. One of the rides was called Rapid River. We had dinner at a place called Ramos.

25th of August 2015

We had breakfast at a restaurant and did shopping at the Old Town. I got a FC Porto jersey as well as more shirts. Mom got Nana and Amber a bag each. We packed our stuff and went back to the airport. To conclude my holiday was brilliant.

London

My Trip to London

Last month my Dad and I packed our bags for our trip to London. I was really excited because I was going to see Ireland play Romania in the Rugby World Cup at Wembley Stadium.

On Friday my Mom picked me up from school early and drove my Dad and I to Farranfore airport. We checked in and had to wait extra time as our flight was delayed. Finally our flight was called and we boarded. After one hour in the air we arrived at Stansted airport. When we arrived we collected our bags and got a bus into London. The drive lasted two hours. I was really anxious to get there. We got off at Baker Street. Suddenly my Gran- Uncle Joe appeared. I did not expect to see him because we were meant to meet him at his house. We got another bus to his house. Finally after an exhausting trip we got there. My Gran-Aunt Rita was delighted to see us. We chatted and had our dinner. At midnight we went to our rooms to get some sleep as we had a very busy schedule planned for the next day.

The very next day she woke us early so we could go sightseeing. We got on the underground train and got off at on Downing Street. I saw the Prime Minister’s house, but didn’t get any glimpse of David Cameron. We walked further down the street and saw Big Ben and it was even more amazing than I had imagined.   We then walked across the river Thames and we went on the London Eye.  The view from the top was breath taking as we could see all over London.

My dad then suggested we get the train and surprised me with two tickets to see Tottenham play Man City.  I was so delighted as this was a surprise to me.  When we arrived at White Hart Lane the atmosphere was electric. Sadly Tottenham won the game 4-1.  It was still a very entertaining match.

In the evening we went to the Imperial War Museum.  I’ve always wanted to go there as I am very interested in World War 2.  There were old airplanes hanging from the ceiling and all sorts of World War 2 memorabilia.

To end the evening we got a bus tour of London.  We saw the tallest building in London called the Shard, Buckingham Palace, London Bridge and many more historical buildings.  There was a Battleship docked on the Thames called the HMS Belfast.

On Sunday my Dad and I got to meet our cousins Barry and Benjamin.  We all got a bus out to Wembley Stadium to watch the Ireland v Romania Rugby World Cup game.  There was a record 90,000 people at the game.  It felt fantastic to be part of it all.  We did the Mexican wave during the game.  Ireland beat Romania 40-10.

On Monday we packed our bags and said our goodbyes.  The weekend had flown by so fast. We boarded our plane in Stansted and arrived in Farranfore to be greeted by my Mom.

I truly had a fantastic weekend in London and have wonderful memories that I will never forget. I would highly recommend a trip to London as there is so much to see and do.

Boston

My Trip to Boston

One day, in the middle of summer, I entered a competition on TV3 for a beautiful holiday to Boston. I received a phone call from TV3 the following day and the lady on the phone said ‘Your name has come out of the draw first so you have won yourself a magnificent holiday’. I was jumping around in glee because I would see my uncle for my first time since I was born. I started by packing my suitcase. I had many items of clothing in my suitcase because I would be gone for two weeks.

I felt very lonely at the airport in Cork city because none of my family had tickets for the marvellous holiday I had won; all I had was my phone. When I finally went through the security checks I bought myself a freezing cold drink and chewing gum so my ears wouldn’t pop on the plane. After that I went on the huge plane and sat down on my seat. Suddenly a young small man sat down beside me. He was wearing a black hat, a black t-shirt with a skull in the middle of it and thorn up jeans. He started chatting to me, he had an amazing personality. His name was Tom.

When I landed in Boston airport he seemed to be going in the same direction as me. He was slightly behind me so I started walking faster than I usually do; but he also started picking up the pace. This was very scary. I then went out of the airport and sat down on a wooden bench to look out at the tiny wonderful ducks. Suddenly I saw a big, black dog that looked as strong as an ox. He plunged into the shallow lake with the ducks. Just then Tom crept up beside me and stole my valuable phone. We both took off in a sprint. I was slightly faster than him but he had the head start. He then took a rapid left straight into an abandoned house. He darted up the stairs and I chased after him to try to get my phone.

In the house there was beautiful furniture. It looked like a tiny office for accountants. Just then I saw two cops pounce out at Tom with guns. ‘Hand the phone over mate!’ shouted the cop firmly. Tom tried to make a run for it but another cop tazed him. I then got my precious phone back off the cops and they thanked me. ’For what?’ I questioned. Then I gave a look at his records on the massive computer. I saw that he had many criminal records for shoplifting and pick pocketing and many more. After all of that madness I went touring the city for an hour before travelling to my Uncle Jones’s house.

I then traveled home on a gigantic boat back to Ireland to tell my family all about my trip to Boston.

Trip of a Lifetime – Australia

My Trip to Australia

At the start of November my family and I were thinking of going on a cruise to Australia. My mom was happy but she was also really nervous because it was her first time on a ship. My nana was not too pushed on the outside but on the inside I knew she was happy.

That evening my mom bought three tickets. We were leaving on the 25th of November, only three days away. We had our suit cases packed .Our cruise was leaving at 1am so we left at 11pm and we were at the docks for 12 o clock .Our cruise left 15 minutes early.

The cruise ship was huge. There were numerous activities to do, such as basketball, tennis but my favourite was soccer .The pitch was at the top of the ship which was really fancy in my opinion. After picking teams we started the match. My team got the first goal when my teammate went as fast as lightning down the wing, then cut inside and let off a rocket. The score was 1-0 to my team.

We went down to the tennis courts after that. As I was not that good at playing tennis the coach gave me some lessons. First he told me the basic requirements, then he got onto the hard stuff. When I was done with the lessons I got to play a match. My opponent was good but somehow I managed to beat him by one frame. I hope it was not beginners luck!

We played basketball next which I thought was really fun. Firstly the instructor showed us some skills like rolling the ball around your neck and he taught us how to juggle two basketballs. My mom told me that there was an aquarium at the bottom of the ship so we decided to go there. When we got there it was not really like an aquarium because we were at the very bottom of the ship looking out the windows at the fish. In my opinion the cruise was magnificent.

When we got off the cruise we got into our taxi. The driver took us to our hotel also it was really sunny. We went up to our room then we started to unpack our clothes. We finished unpacking our clothes at about 6 o clock. We got dinner and the restaurant was really lively because people were juggling wine bottles and another person was carrying plates on his head.

The next day we went down to the beach. We got a sun bed and it was really sunny. After a while we went to go get some gifts to bring back to Ireland. I got a cool wrist band and my mom got a t-shirt. We got food then we went to the hotel and went to bed.

I wanted to go to a water park the following day so my mom said I could. When we got there it was huge. I went down a gigantic slide and when I got to the bottom there was a huge splash and it went all over my mom. Then there was a huge obstacle course but it was not an ordinary obstacle course. When your got near the top a huge bucket of water would fall right on top of you and you would fall right back down. After I went to the gift shop and I got a t-shirt. We went back to the hotel and that was our day.

The next day was our last day but I really missed my dog Beauty and my granddad so I did not mind going back to Ireland.
