The Wanted in Concert

The Wanted

One day when listening to the radio I heard a competition for tickets to see’ The Wanted’, live in the Marquee in Cork. They were my favourite band so I got on the phone and texted in my name and phone number and waited nervously, hoping they would ring me!

After what seemed like ages the phone rang, showing up a Cork number! I knew straight away what I had to do. ‘Red Fm, The Wanted, give me the tickets’, I shouted into the phone. The guy on the other side said ‘congratulations, you just won 2 tickets to see The Wanted, live at the Marquee’. I was live on air!

Two weeks later mom and I set off to Cork on a wet and stormy Sunday to the concert. I was so excited and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the size of the Marquee. We went inside and took our place right up near the front. Soon there were thousands of people all around us. I had butterflies in my tummy waiting for it to start.

Eventually the lights dimmed and the music started with really loud drumming. The crowd started to scream and then ‘The Wanted’ ran on to the stage and started to sing.

Mom and I danced and sang along to some of my favourite songs like ‘Chasing the sun’ and ‘Warzone’. My ears were ringing for ages after the concert because of the noise. But it was definitely the best night of my entire life.

My Trip To Tayto Park

On July the 12th my Mom, Sandra, Dylan and I went to Tayto Park in Ashbourne county Meath for a holiday. Tayto Park has lots of fun activities to do. The Tayto factory is there and there are animals to see and gift shops to buy nice things.

On the morning of Tayto Park I got up early got dressed had my breakfast and we travelled to Meath. It was a very long drive and the weather was very hot. I played on my 3ds to pass away the drive.

We arrived in Ashbourne . We checked into the room. The room was very nice and had a TV. After the hotel we walked around the town. I got cool pencils and iphone rubbers in a shop there. We ate in McDonalds before we went to Tayto Park.

We went into Tayto Park and Dylan and I played in the parks there. We did a tour of the tayto factory it was warm in there because it was a very hot day. We got to see all the tayto’s being made and outside there was a Tayto Park monster truck. My mom and I went into the tilted tunnel it was dark with lights shining and it was like we were going to fall off of it.

I really enjoyed tayto Park. There was so much to do and see there. My favourite thing there was the tilted tunnel because it was good fun. The gift shops had lots of nice things and we got to buy pencils and other things in there. The weather was very nice and made the day even better.

I would definitely go back again.

Trip to Killarney

Firstly my family surprised our mom with a holiday to a hotel in Killarney for her birthday. Our mom was so happy she was jumping up and down with excitement and was screaming mad.

We were on our way to Killarney when we got there we got the suitcases out of the car and went into the hotel to check in to the hotel. We waited for 20 minutes in the waiting room. They gave us the key and we went up to our room and emptied our suitcases. Then we went down to the restaurant to have dinner and our Grandparents came to surprise us to stay with us for mom’s birthday too.

After we went to the park for a little while and went to play mini-golf. Then we went to an arcade called the teen zone and in there we went on a mechanical bull it was really fun. Then I went back to the pub to get a bag of taytos and a drink of sprite free. My sister was after watching a puppet show and getting a balloon animal of a dog.

It wasn’t long until night came I was walking to the park when suddenly these kids ran out of the teen zone and there was a lot of them there. I went over to them and I asked them could I play with them and they insisted and we all became friends. We played tag all night and then it became very dark and late so we all went to our rooms to go to bed but before we went to bed we watched wipe out it was great fun and really funny after that we went to bed and off to sleep.

In the morning we slept in but after a while mom woke us up to be on time for breakfast. In the restaurant where we had breakfast we sat at a huge table and had a great feast(breakfast) and after I went to the teen zone for a while and my dad texted me to come to them to play mini-golf.

After that we got in the car and before we went home we went on the jaunting-cart as a treat. The horse was called Sally. I was allowed sit on front with the man and he told us all types of interesting facts. We stopped at another jaunting cart site that was near a big castle. We stopped there to give Sally food and we went to see the big castle.  It was actually called Ross Castle. There was a lake there that was full of ducks. We went up the hill to a room of old maps of the castle and before we went back down the hill I spotted cannons and we went to see them.  My dad took a picture of us sitting on them. We went back down the hill to the jaunting cart and set off back to where we started and got off. Then we went to the bungee jump after we went to the car and went home.I had a great time.

Summer in Boston

Last summer my family my aunt and I went to Boston. My sister Peig had qualified to dance in the world Irish Dancing

Championship. So we decided to go as a family.

We left the house about seven o clock in the morning. When we got to the airport we scanned our luggage in case there was any unauthorised material inside. Once that was done we had breakfast.

After that we hopped on the plane and flew to London Heathrow and from there on to Boston. The trip lasted for five hours.

When we arrived in Boston Airport we went to the security check. When we passed security and got approval for entry to the United States we quickly went to hail a cab. The driver took us to the very fancy Sheraton Hotel in the city centre. My mom checked us in and we went to our lovely room where we went to sleep very quickly as we had been up for over 20 hours.

The following morning we got up and went to get breakfast. We eventually found a posh French breakfast shop. It was tasty, but what liked most was their orange smoothie and a baguette with ham. After breakfast we went back to our room. My mom told me that Peig would be dancing the following morning so she told me to stay with my aunt.

When I got up the next morning she came nineteenth in the world and had got a world medal. We were all very proud. The next week we went to the middle of the town and we got a bus called the duck tour, the bus took us around the city of Boston and it gave us lots of information, I even got to drive it.

The day after that we went to a shopping village called Wrentham. I got two pairs of converse and two t-shirts from the sport shop. Then it was nearly the end of the week and my holiday was nearly over so packed our bags and headed home.

I thought it was a great holiday and I would do it again tomorrow.

Trip to Youghal

My family and I went on a trip to Youghal at the end of June for a vacation. When we got there we unpacked our suitcases, then we went out to the garden and kicked the ball around to each other. After that we watched a bit of TV and packed our beach boards, wet suits, hurleys and toy tractors into the car. We made a golf course in the sand, we used hurleys as golf sticks and sliothyars as golf balls. Later in the day we went to the swimming pool, we played volley ball in the water. I love to swim.

The next day was very wet, so we decided to go to the local entertainment centre which was called Perks. The first thing I went on was a Ferrari racing game. We went and played laser tag, the suits were heavy. I thought it was class. In the evening we went to a cinema night in the hotel, we watched kung foo panda 2. We got blackcurrant drinks and cheese and onion taytos. After the movie we went down to the bar and got coke. The next morning we went to the Astroturf, we played hurling and soccer for a while. Then we went back to the house and watched TV. The following day we packed our clothes and drove home to Newmarket.

I really want to go back to Youghal again for another holiday.
