Limerick

There was old man with a flute,

Who danced a jig in his boot.

He had a cat named Ginger,

Who was a bit of a whinger,

And he ran to Kanturk with the flute!

Limerick

There was an Old Man in a tree,

Who got badly stung by a bee.

When jumped on the floor,

And banged on the door,

Eventually he landed on his knee!

Old Man of Kilkenny

There was an Old Man of Kilkenny,

Who never had more than a penny.

He spent all his money,

Going to places that are sunny,

This wise old man from Kilkenny!

My Farm

My Farm

My farm is in Taur. We have different types of cows on the farm. We have Angus cows, White heads and Limousines. We have bullocks and calves too. We spread slurry on the farm. We put the slurry into the slurry tank and we spread it on the field.  We also spread manure. We spread the slurry and manure to get the grass to grow. At the weekend we tagged all the calves. I chased the calves and put them into the small crush. When the calves are in the crush the vet tags them. We tag the calves so we can find out who their mother is and if the calves get lost, we know what tag to look for. Once one of our cows got lost, and a man found the cow. We knew it was our cow because of her tag! The best thing about farming is looking at the cattle and hunting the cows.

Making Butterflies

My Butterfly

We made butterflies in school today and this is how I made mine.

First, I got a piece of paper with the outline of a butterfly.

Then, I wrote my name on the back of the butterfly.

After that I started to break up the crepe paper and stick it onto the butterfly using the glue. We used all different colours of crepe paper. I used green, blue, red and yellow.

I drew a smiley face on my butterfly and then I picked out googly eyes. I stuck the googly eyes onto the butterflies with glue.

I got a lollipop stick and glued it to the back of my butterfly.

After we finished the butterflies we hung them up in hallway so everyone could see them.
