Junior and Senior Infants learn lots of rhymes and poems in school, but they also love to create their own! Below find some examples of cinquain poetry the boys created in class this year.

Monkey,

Furry, brown, cheeky, funny,

Taking people’s hats,

Happiest climbing trees.

Silly.

Pony,

Brown, small, fast, silky,

Cantering around the field,

Happiest when he is racing.

Beautiful.

Rabbits,

Small, grey, furry, fast,

Hopping in the long grass.

Happiest when free,

Cute as can be,

Lion,

Big, strong, brown, fast,

Hunting in the jungle,

Happiest when he is sleeping,

King.

Dog,

Golden, small, happy, busy,

Dashing around the field,

Happiest when we play together,

Loyal.

Reindeer,

Big, brown, strong, busy,

Flying high in the sky,

Happy to help Santa,

Magical.

Monkey,

Brown, big, loud, furry,

Swings in the branches,

Delighted when eating bananas,

Silly.

Horse,

Tall, slender, fast, happy,

Racing over fields,

Happiest when running around,

Graceful.

Fish,

Yellow, big, slippery, sad,

Swims slowly in the fish tank,

Sad because he has no space,

Pet.
